I always had an interest in music from an early age. I grew up in a house filled with music every day. I was encouraged to explore any musical instrument of interest which turned out to be the guitar. I took lessons for a bit and enjoyed that. Fast forward to adulthood and once I started going to clubs, realized I wanted to be the person behind the decks. It never occurred to me that women were not plentiful in that. I was known for playing long hours of music for my friends in my home. I graduated to curating mixes and playing them at my house parties.
When I moved to the Bay Area, I had the opportunity to learn how to spin on vinyl and I’ve never looked back since then. My interests have expanded to creating and producing music. Just recently, I released a project I started 10 years ago. With the help of a good friend to get the track to the finish line, it’s out now for all to enjoy. I have a few more projects in the works as well with two other friends/dj/producers. It’s been a fun summer so far.
